WAYS TO USE AFFIRMATIONS

There are so many ways that affirmations can be used powerfully

and effectively to give you a more positive, creative outlook and to

help you achieve specific goals.

Remember it's important to feel relaxed as you affirm. Do not

be addicted to getting results. Remember you already ARE everything

you need; every improvement is just icing on the cake.

Please also keep your personal affirmations to yourself.

Sometimes other people may try to "help" (hinder) you by

reminding you of your old negative tapesor your affirmations!

A. WHILE MEDITATING

Say your affirmations to yourself silently while meditating or

relaxing deeply; especially right before sleep or upon awakening.

B. SPOKEN

1. Say your personal affirmations silently or aloud throughout

the day, whenevery you think to, especially while driving,

doing housework, during exercise, or whenever you are alone.

Vividly picture and experience yourself having accomplished

the change you want or the end result you intend to create.

2. Say them ALOUD to yourself while looking at yourself in

a mirror. Look yourself right in the eyes and affirm your

selfesteem and selflove"I am a lovable, worthy person."

"I am beautiful. God loves me and I love me." If you

feel uncomfortable, stick with it until you push through

your barriers and are able to fully experience looking

at, and loving, yourself. You may find this very emotional

and healing. Feel the feelings of selflove you want to feel.

3. Record your affirmations on a tape recorder and play them

to yourself while alone. Use your name on the tape: "I,

(Name), am a loving person worthy of love and respect."

C. WRITTEN

1. Write out a particular affirmation longhand 10 or 20 times

in succession, really thinking about the words as you write

them. Repetition is one of the most powerful techniques

and it is one of the easiest to do.

2. Write or type out your affirmations and post them in various

places at home or at work as reminders. Remember, though,

your affirmations are yours alone and not to be shared with

coworkers or family.

D. IN CONVERSATIONS

Make strong positive statements about things and people (especially

yourself) that you want to see in a more positive way. Amazing

and dramatic changes can be made in your life just by beginning

to consciously speak more positively during daily conversation.

E. A WORD OF CAUTION:

Affirmations must not contradict your true feelings and should

be realistic and picturable to you. GO TO IT!
